Recent developments suggest that the platform X, previously known as Twitter, is working on a feature allowing users to access posts from individuals they have blocked. Currently, when a user is blocked, they lose access to the blocked person's posts, replies, media, and followers. However, Elon Musk, who oversees the social media service, indicates that this policy may soon be amended. Reports also point towards the potential launch of payment functionalities, aligning with Musk's ambition to create a comprehensive application.

Elon Musk has confirmed the intended changes regarding the blocking mechanism. A post from a researcher indicated that the platform may eliminate the traditional blocking feature. If the blocked individual has a public profile, their posts will remain viewable by those who have blocked them. In response, Musk stated that it was about time such a change was implemented.

Moreover, Musk explained that the modified blocking feature would still restrict an account's ability to engage with the user who blocked them, yet would not prevent blocked users from viewing content from public accounts. Musk's previous critiques of blocking features on various platforms have been sharp; he argued that such a feature was illogical and instead favored a more effective muting option. In the past, he even suggested the total removal of blocking on X, save for direct messaging capabilities.

This anticipated feature is rumored to be released shortly, although preliminary tests by staff have shown that the current blocking system remains operational, indicating that changes may not have yet taken effect.

In addition to the blocking changes, X is reportedly enhancing its Community Notes feature. This function would permit users to contribute notes that accompany specific links and become visible on any posts featuring that link. Users will have the option to ensure visibility across every relevant post. Musk has reinforced the progress on this feature by referencing it directly.
