Anthony Mackie might have just hinted that another Avenger is joining him in Captain America: Brave New World. This potential spoiler lines up with a previous unintentional reveal.
While discussing whether the story of 2008’s The Incredible Hulk is relevant in the new Captain America film, Mackie seemed to bemuse Harrison Ford during an Entertainment Weekly interview. Mackie mentioned "when he shows up," possibly alluding to Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, whom Mackie refers to as "the other Hulk," complementing Ford’s Red Hulk persona.
An earlier interview with MCU Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo adds more speculation. At the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Ruffalo was asked if Brave New World was his next project. He responded affirmatively, adding that "it’s gonna be great."
Both Ruffalo and Mackie might have misspoken about Hulk's involvement. Following Ruffalo’s comment, Variety reported that Hulk would not appear in Captain America: Brave New World. However, the film’s cast features several characters from The Incredible Hulk, including Tim Blake Nelson’s The Leader and Liv Tyler’s Betty Ross, alongside Harrison Ford’s ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross—hinting at a potential Hulk appearance.
The movie, set for release on February 14, 2025, stars Anthony Mackie, Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Carl Lumbly, Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson, and Harrison Ford. Giancarlo Esposito recently unveiled his role as the leader of the Serpent Society, Sidewinder, at San Diego Comic-Con.
