Obsidian, a prominent RPG developer, proudly aims to reach its 100th anniversary in the future. Established 22 years ago, the studio still has a substantial 78 years ahead before it can celebrate this significant milestone. The creators behind titles like Avowed, Pentiment, and Fallout: New Vegas acknowledge the ambitious nature of their goal but have laid out a sound strategy to achieve it.

At the latest D.I.C.E. Summit, key members of Obsidian's leadership shared their vision for the future. Marcus Morgan, the Vice President of Operations, along with Justin Britch, the Vice President of Development, communicated their approach to reaching this century mark. Their plan focuses on realistic sales projections, retaining talented personnel, and maintaining an efficient operational structure.

Rather than focusing on high profit expectations, Obsidian aims for each game release to be deemed a "modest success" rather than a groundbreaking triumph. This cautious philosophy allows them to avoid placing undue pressure on themselves with each launch. By keeping their aspirations measured, the studio hopes to prevent potential setbacks that could arise if things do not proceed as envisioned.

What are your thoughts on Obsidian's chances of celebrating a centennial milestone?
